Resistance Communications (RC) exists to create story, strategy and art, in collaboration with resistors of injustice to ignite imagination, move people to action and forge equitable, just futures. YOU’RE THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU:
Have previous experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager ○ Because the visionary co-founders have aggressive growth goals supported by a variety of project, which need to be expertly planned, budgeted, and billed for, by an experienced individual who has succeeded in efficient project management. Have experience working at a high-growth organization ○ Because in this role, you’ll be working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and helping to create structure and optimize processes to support efficient growth. Have excellent emotional intelligence and people skills ○ Because in this role, you’ll be responsible for working with and influencing a variety of stakeholder including but not limited to internal employees, external contractors and clients Have managed multiple project budgets simultaneously or an agency P+L ○ Because in this role, you’ll create budgets, report time and lead invoicing, as well as report relevant KPIs to ensure that RC does not exceed or comes under budget. Have experience streamlining processes and implementing new systems ○ Because in this role, you’ll proactively identify opportunities to maximize efficiency such as recommending process and systems to make RC more efficient , developing and maintaining RC’s filing system and helping to create standard templates and files. ABOUT YOU: You are focused . Once given a project, you are able to proactively drive strategies to completion, galvanizing those around you to get them excited about their contributions to the shared end goal, executing on time and within budget. You prioritize intuitively and ensure that at any given point in time, you are focused on work that will drive the biggest impact. You take personal accountability seriously . If we have a project deadline on Monday at 9am, you deliver it by EOB on Friday, setting an example for your expectation of others. You hold others accountable to deliverables and timelines. Lastly, you’re no stranger to rolling up your sleeves and wearing multiple hats .Others may fall apart if presented with too many projects that need to be completed simultaneously, but you are a natural born problem solver.
ABOUT THE POSITION: In your role, you will be responsible for aspects of RC’s PROFIT, PROCESSES + PEOPLE . Specifically, you’ll be in charge of the following important functions: ● B2B business development and setting client expectations – You will take notes during the pitch process and create proposals grounded in what things cost in terms of time and money. Throughout projects, you will clearly communicate with clients regarding deadline, timeline, and budget impacts. As necessary, you will schedule meetings and send calendar invites. ● Ensuring RC stays on time. You’ll personally work with RC’s employees and contractors to develop project timelines that translates large projects into a roadmap with milestones and KPIs, keeps team members on track on a day-to-day basis and preventing timeline delays. ● Building and managing budgets. You’ll personally be responsible for building most project budgets, reporting time tracking KPIs, and preventing budget overages. You’ll be in charge of steering the ship on the day-to-day to make sure that RC is on track to stay within budgets and achieve goals. You’ll work closely with the virtual CFO as she evaluates how to reduce expenses and maximize margins, while adhering to high standards of client care. ● Creating Processes and Systems to Support RC’s Long-Term Structure . You’ll develop and maintain RC’s filing systems, create standard budget and proposal templates, and make recommendations for RC to purchase systems/software to support overall goals . ● Improving efficiency. You will constantly evaluate whether RC’s processes and systems are efficiently facilitating the organization’s growth. You will bring a mindset focused on prioritization to the team and ensure projects are seen through to completion, respectfully challenging the co-founders when necessary. ● Overall, you’ll be in charge of managing process and systems to ensure that RC runs like a well-oiled machine, and that we meet (or exceed) our goals! REQUIREMENTS: ● Must hold anti-racist and feminist values and be dedicated to leading and contributing to RC from an anti-oppression and equity lens. ● Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree. ● At least 3+ years in a relevant role; additional years of experience a plus. ● Ability to solve problems quickly, effectively, and efficiently using critical thinking skills. ● Excellent communication and people skills; business development experience preferred. ● Ability to balance building authentic relationships with holding team members accountable. ● Proficient in innovating around systems and processes and with regard to project management to save time, effort and money. ● Experience working with and implementing systems. ● Experience in communications, media or marketing preferred but not required. BENEFITS/PERKS: ● Paid Time Off : 10 paid vacation days which accrues from employee start date, with 5 additional paid vacation days added every 5th year service anniversary.
